Their innovative ideas, passion, and commitment to environmental and social issues are paving the way for cities to become more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable. Through various initiatives and events, youth are demonstrating their capability to lead the change both in policy and on the ground programming.
The Urban Youth Imperative
Join us on our journey to sustainable urban future, in a world where over 60 percent of the world’s population will live in cites by 2030 and as many as 60 percent of those urban dwellers will be under the age of 18. Almost all this growth will occur in developing world cities, where already 30 percent of the population lives below official poverty lines.
By investing in efforts of diverse urban youth to reduce inequalities and bringing the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals closer, we ensure that no one is left behind.
Together with the UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Board, we created an overarching agenda for youth-led action to transform our cities and communities post-Summit
