Lenin Zambrano
Indigenous activist, lawyer, and musician, from Otavalo, Ecuador

Lenin Zambrano is a lawyer, musician, and activist from Otavalo, Ecuador who helps to run the organization Living Museum of Otavalango which seeks to preserve and advocate for the rights, customs, and teachings of the indigenous Kichwa people of Otavalo, Ecuador. He leads tours at the museum which used to be a textile factory which enslaved and, even after slavery was abolished, exploited the local indigenous people for labor. The old factory was then purchased and turned into a museum where the local indigenous people teach local youth and people from around the world about their traditions, celebrations, and language. Lenin and his family are fighting to keep this museum and historical site alive in light of lacking support from other stakeholders.
